NOTW: Twinkly Love

I am a fan of both purple nail polish and accent nails, and this nail of the week is a combination of both. After many people at work telling me that my nail polish was too dark and depressing and that only crazy people where all dark polish I decided to change to something completely girly with multi-coloured heart glitter. I was pleased with how it turned out and I might actually re-create it for Valentines Day using pink polish instead. Enjoy the many pictures below.

The song I was listening to while writing this blog is Alex Goot's cover of "She's So High". Alex is one of my favourite YouTube singers, check him out at the link below!

For this manicure I used:

1 coat of Calvin Klein Splendid Basis
3 coats of Essie Nice is Nice
2 coats of Klean Color Twinkly Love
1 coat of Seche Vite Top Coat

Essie's Nice is Nice Polish bought at Factory Direct on sale for $3.99.

Klean Color Polish in Twinkly Love from Urban Planet.
I love how in the right light the silver hearts look like rainbows!

January Glymm Box

Its that time again, for my January Glymm Box Post. This month I was very disappointed in the box. Even more disappointed then last month's box. I didn't find that the products in this month's box were really "deluxe", and one of the products was practically empty. I really hope that the next months get better because the last few months Glymm has really been disappointing me.

KAIA NATURALS/Juicy Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths
Full Size: 30 cloths/$17.99
Sample Value: 1 cloth/$0.60
On the Card: One Cloth, multiple functions! Juicy bamboo facial cloths that effectively and gently sweep away makeup, dirt and oil for clear, fresh skin! Soaked in Vitamins and made with 99% natural ingredients, which make your skin feel soft, instead of stripped and tight. These urban facial cloths are the perfect solution for the girl on the go!
My Thoughts: Although I am always looking to try out new cleansing cloths, as they make makeup removal super easy and are great for nights when I am too lazy to wash my face, I was very unpleased to see this as one of the products in this months box. We were given 1 cleansing cloth. ONE! To me that is not very deluxe. How am I supposed to know if this product really works or doesn't make me break out after 1 use. And with the steep price tag of $17.99 for 30 cloths this is not something I would be willing to purchase to find out if I really like it. I think that I will stay with my cleansing cloths from Dollarama. Be on the look for a review post coming up.

VASANTI COSMETICS/BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
Full Size: 120 ml/$34.00
Sample Value: 12g/$3.40
On the Card: Alright beauties its time to dramatically improve your skin's texture to reveal softer, brighter and younger looking skin! This aloe-enriched cleanser brightens with powerful papaya enzymes to give radiance, exfoliates with dermatologist grade micro-crystals which help smooth and hydrate your gentle skin.
My Thoughts: When I saw this product I was excited to try it because I have been really impressed with all the other Vasanti products I have tried. However, my sample was practically empty. It's like somebody used it already. I barely had enough to use on my face one time. Really not impressed Glymm!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS/Clear Brow Gel
Full Size: 0.28 oz/$21.00
Sample Value: 0.085 oz/$6.38
On the Card: From the upscale salons of Beverly Hills, we bring you the brow expert, Anastasia's clear brow gel. Awarded as Allure's editor's choice, this brow gel sets your perfect brow look and keeps brows in place all day. This best-selling formula tames unruly brows without leaving them stiff, flaky or sticky.
My Thoughts: After using this product for the first time it was like light shone down and angels sang. This product is AMAZING!!!! My brows stayed perfect all day until I washed my face at the end of the day. Love, love, love this product. I will definitely be buying the full size when my sample runs out. The consistency isn't sticky and it doesnt flake at all during the day. The smell of this product though is a tad bit on the chemical side but it isnt something that you smell all day.

BURT'S BEES/Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion
Full Size: 170g/$12.99
Sample Value: 14.16g/$1.08
On the Card: Burt's Bees new and improved body lotion is clinically proven to restore moisture and replenish dry skin. Canada's favourite natural beuty brand uses nature's best resources such as milk and honey to soothe, soften, and hydrate dry skin, without making it feel greasy. The coconut and vitamin E deliver beneficial nutrients to the skin.
My Thoughts: I have never tried any Burt's Bees products before but I have always wanted to. This lotion is realy moisturizing and I really liked how soft it made my skin feel, however the smell of this lotion was just terrible. My mom thought it smelt nice and tried to explain that because it is an all natural product it is supposed to smell natural, but it honestly made me want to throw up. I had to wash my hands right after applying it.

CARGO COSMETICS/Eye Pencil
Full Size: 2g/$16.00
Sample Value: 2g/$16.00
On the Card: Cargo eye pencils offer a cutting edge formulation! An incredibly high pigment pencil that delivers intense colour combined with a smudge-resistant formula for immediate and longwearing results. Rich, deep colour that glides on easily with just one application and minimal skipping.
My Thoughts: Really happy that I got a black eyeliner. I saw other people got brown pencils and I would have been really upset if I got a brown pencil. The formula is not as creamy as I would like, and it takes a few swipes to really get a pigmented black line but it's a full size product so I cant complain.

Bonus: Coupon for a free lip stain from the Glymm Boutique.
Value: $25
My Thoughts: I like this better then the normal jelly beans because I dont usually eat them anyway, but having to buy something to get the free product kinda sucks.

What I paid: $10
What it's worth: $27.46 roughly (this is w/o the coupon for free Lip Shine)

Disclaimer: I bought this Glymm Box with my own money. All thoughts are honest and my own.

NOTW - Twilight

The nail polish in this blog is probably the coolest nail polish I have ever seen/owned, and I feel like I need to share it. It is called Twilight and is part of the Joe Fresh Nail Polish Collection. I know in Canada that Joe Fresh products can be found at almost every Zehrs. The polishes cost $4 per bottle or 3 for $10.

While at Zehrs picking up some juice and cashews I decided to mosey on through the Beauty Department to see if there was anything good. Normal drugstore brands are sold there, so usually nothing jumps out at me. While looking at the Joe Nail Polish rack however, I saw this beautiful jem of a nail polish. It is a black jelly base with flakes of green, orange, gold, and blue. It is like nothing I have seen in a polish before and I instantly knew I had to have it.

At every different angle and in every lighting it looks different and unique. It is almost like you are wearing  a different polish every day. While trying to take pictures for this post I just couldn't capture the beauty of this polish so I am supplementing my pictures with ones I found by Google searching "Joe Twilight Nail Polish." I give recognition to those who originally took these pictures.

The only problem I have with this polish is that the black base is not as opaque as I would have liked. You need at least 2 thick coats or 3-4 thin coats to really get the depth and beauty of how the polish looks in the bottle.

If you live in Canada and have access to Joe Cosmetics I would definitely recommend this nail polish for part of your collection.

NOTW - Gussied Up Green

During the fall and winter I love nail polish colors that look almost black but are really not. Before Christmas I bought China Glaze's Gussied Up Green and have been wearing it almost every week since. I have changed my polish a few times but I just seem to always go back to this color.

I am fairly new to China Glaze polishes but so far I really love them. The consistency and brush make it really easy to apply and streak free. I also have never had a problem with chipping with the China Glaze polishes, using a Calvin Klein Base Coat and Seche Vite Top Coat this nail polish does not budge.
